What you’ll do: Eaton's Aerospace Division is seeking an EHS Manager to join out team at the Westminster, MD location.
Primary Function: • Manage the compliance to the safety, health and environmental policies of the Westminster, MD facility.
• Manage project priorities and project completion to expectations with Engineering and Maintenance for projects compliant with EHS needs and expectations of the facility.
• Manage relationship with the Security Team regarding safety of the facility.
• Lead the Hazardous Materials Team, Safety Team, Emergency Response Team, Powerhouse and EMS Committee.
• Drive continuous improvement of world class EHS Management Systems that help us move further along the path towards ZERO injuries.
• Oversee the safety, health and environmental policies of the plant in conjunction with the Eaton Corporation guidelines, for the purpose of making the facility a safe and productive place to work while keeping in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
• Manage the relationship with the Security Team of the Westminster, MD facility regarding its safety Additional Responsibilities: Develops short and long term goals for EHS risk management at the plant.
Manage the OSHA employee and community Right-to-Know program in conjunction with Human Resources.
Prepares required air, water, and land disposal applications for operational permits from the federal, state, and local authorities.
Acts as Environmental Management Representative, leading and managing the Environmental Management System in accordance with the EMS Manual and related ISO-14001 requirements.
Develop and manage ergonomic initiative to ensure ongoing ergonomic assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement processes to reduce work/job-related trauma while keeping within production requirements.
Designs and implements training programs required by federal and state EPA, ISO-14001, and OSHA regulations.
Provides direction to plant management on EHS budgets and policies including contributions to capital projects.
Supplies analytical support to manufacturing operations, including leading process change implementation related to work/job design.
Consults on an as needed basis with Eaton Corporate legal, EHS professional associates/organizations, and/or other divisional plants on EHS matters.
Manages plant hazardous waste compliance and waste water treatment programs.
Monitors plant compliance with government EHS filings, and insures timely and accurate submissions.
Assist plant in the development of manufacturing processes through the use of lean concepts.
Manage the fire protection program for the facility in conjunction with landlord.
Lead and contribute to capital projects.
Manages WC-related injuries/illnesses, focusing on workplace safety prevention and ergonomics program, while utilizing and enhancing light-duty program.
Coordinate with third-party WC administrator.
Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and hazards in your respective work area(s) and evaluate the ensuing correction(s).
Support all EHS functions.
Establishes and maintains relationships with local medical authorities on matters of mutual concern including OSHA reporting and Eaton internal requirements.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the environmental, occupational health and safety field.
