The Project Engineer is responsible for identifying and tracking projects to improve operations, introducing new equipment or processes, as well as providing technical support for equipment qualification, root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
This Engineer is expected to support the research, design, execution and close-out of CapEx projects.
This position is very hands-on and will be frequently responsible for on-site investigation, as necessary, to effectively support the Cultivation, Manufacturing and Retail functions of Curio Wellness.
This Engineer is expected to work independently to safely and effectively complete the tasks assigned, as well as supporting operational emergencies.
This position may require occasional overtime or an augmented schedule to perform work outside of operating hours.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *
* Research, assess and qualify new processes, methods and equipment to improve safety, quality and/or productivity
* Identify and track projects to reduce material costs, packaging and process waste, as well as increasing productivity savings and equipment reliability
* Provide cost assessments and ROI for capital improvements to aid in decision making
* Assist Reliability Engineers in the transfer of processes, methods and equipment into production, to include but not be limited to setup, equipment qualification and the creation and execution of protocols for IQ/OQ validation studies and documentation of such
* Prepare initial SOPs, standard work and training requirements for new processes
* Troubleshoot problems with equipment and processes to include mechanical and electrical technical issues
* Provide technical expertise in improvement of standard work or process optimization as well as root cause analysis
* Perform time studies to verify/validate expected productivity targets for new products/processes
*Requirements*
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Practical knowledge of commercial HVAC, chiller/boiler systems and environmental controls
* Practical knowledge of building electrical systems and variable frequency drives
* Practical knowledge of irrigation, water pumps and plumbing systems
* Project management skills to break down work into a project plan and lead a team to execution
* Technical research skills to evaluate options for new processes and equipment
* Excellent critical thinking skills to be able to troubleshoot any issue with the processes and instrumentation
* Experience in data analysis and reporting on production metrics
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and operations software packages
* Skill in using hand and power tools
* Able to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts
* Experience with test equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, flow meters and light meters
* Able to check and use blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs
* Able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
* Able to convey complex information to associates at various levels of the organization
* Strong organizational and follow up skills
