This is a long term contract role of 18-24 months.

SBD Towson design center is the main headquarters for Tool & Outdoor development with hundreds of engineers working to design and develop world's first and world's best power tools and outdoor equipment.
As a high performing SBD team member, you will have opportunity to work alongside various design/engineering functions, operate across multiple product categories, and receive prioritized access to view and apply for new job postings.
Who You Are You're a strong problem solver who loves digging into the details to fully understand what is going on.
You have fixed a lot of problems, so you know how to sort out what is meaningful and what is not to be as efficient as possible.
You have run DOE's and done the statistics to make well informed decisions.
You like getting your hands dirty and want to be the one disassembling a problem to find out what is broken and how to fix it.
You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always.
You want to work on a project where you can see the fruits of your labor come to life and enjoy getting to see the finished product on the shelves of major retailers around the globe.
You also have: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 or more years of experience.
Computer Literate: proficient in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, 2D/3D CAD, Ansys-MotorCAD Demonstrated ability to dissect a problem to find the root cause, design a solution and create a simulation/test method to prove out the issue really is fixed.
FEA experience is preferred.
Experience with electrical analysis of motor function.
Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power supplies and multimeters.
Experience with product development: Design, part specifications, familiarity with milestone or toll gate product development processes.
Accountable for managing the design process and owning the results Some experience working with and/or specifying series universal, PMDC or BLDC motors is preferred A Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where design cycles are generally less than 2 years What You'll Do As a Project Engineer, you'll be part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Towson, MD.
Specifically, you'll: Develop specifications for motor electromagnetic components, submit components and assemblies for testing.
Evaluate the components through test or simulation Support prototype, benchtop testing of motor component assemblies.
Investigate design issues & test failures, and effectively identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions to components and/or mfg.

Implements design and process controls, conducts root-cause analysis, and apply statistical and Lean Six-Sigma techniques to maintain and improve product quality as problems arise thru the product development cycle Support the Milestone process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products.
Work closely with Global Supply Management team members to support productivity initiatives and supplier qualification activities.
Domestic and international travel required to visit manufacturing locations, up to 15%.
