Construction Inspectors will:
Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects
Write daily progress reports
Oversight of contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents, reading and interpretation of contract documents to verify that safe construction practices are being utilized to produce quality results
Perform field test on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)
Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments
Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting, responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of full-time inspection experience in highway, transit and/or facilities Construction
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be willing to travel throughout the State of Maryland as required
A vehicle in good working condition to report for work at any required site
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Successful acquisition and maintenance of inspection training and certifications (ACI, Soils & Aggregates, HMA, Traffic Control, Erosion & Sediment Control, etc.
)
