Duties, Responsibilities & Other: In supervisory capacity, manage task projects, develop scopes and budgets, coordinate and perform geotechnical field investigations, evaluations, analysis and design (foundation, slopes, ground improvement, SOE, Retaining walls, forensic studies, pavement, dams, etc.
) Prepare geotechnical engineering reports for a wide variety of high profile projects.
Projects of major scope and importance such as transportation, environmental, sanitary, tunnels, water/wastewater facilities, dams, landfills, site development (residential/commercial), general civil engineering, and construction.
Provide Geotechnical and pavement expertise and advice to our clients.
Responsible for Geotechnical project budgets and technical deliverables, quality control/quality assurance, technical and price proposals, communication and interaction with external and internal clients.
Responsible for assisting chief geotechnical engineer and practice leader in RFP preparations, project budgets and technical deliverables.
The extent of responsibility generally require overseeing and mentoring other engineers and Geotechnical staff.
Conceives, plans and conducts geotechnical review/research in problem and challenging projects of considerable scope and complexity.
Attend training and learn new/innovative skills and technologies part of our Geotechnical practice services including non-destructive geophysical techniques and 3D subsurface/substructure modeling.
Work with all departments/disciplines within the company to develop client relationships that lead to sustainable profitable revenue.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Appropriate graduate level work.
Master's degree preferred.
6 - 10 years of professional experience.
PE Required.
The target candidate will have experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems.
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
Performance Expectations: Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence Comply with all KCI policies and procedures Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required Complete other duties as required/assigned Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical) Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks Chart and provide task performance results Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required Provide technical project and staff oversight Serve as task manager on select projects Compare field data to base plan Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job Review and approve shop drawings Complete Annual Individual Training Program #LI-KH1 KCI Technologies, Inc.
