*Position Summary:* As the Finished Goods Team Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of the finished goods department, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standard and leading a team to achieve production goals.
You will also be responsible for training team members, monitoring product quality, and facilitating communication among departments to optimize performance.
*Essential Job Functions/Duties:* *Shipping / Receiving * * Supervising daily operations of the packaging floor, including setup and operation of packaging equipment on designated product lines according to the production schedule.
* Ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards by overseeing inspections of finished goods, monitoring standard running conditions, and performing necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity standards.
* Coordinating production schedules with finished product requirements, monitoring output to meet production targets, and performing changeovers efficiently.
* Training team members on operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards, and providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure efficient and effective performance.
* Monitoring and recording production performance, including counts, downtime, and quality checks, and communicating with other departments to resolve issues impacting production and plant performance.
* Implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing ideas for optimizing production processes.
* Enforcing company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork, and fostering positive employee relations.
* Collaborating with the Packaging Supervisor and other team leads to ensure smooth operations and achieve overall department goals.
* Performing safety checks on equipment, ensuring packaging integrity and appearance, and participating in production process improvement efforts.
* Recording all production performance, counts, downtime, and other quality or production-related information as required.
* Other duties as assigned by management to support departmental objectives and contribute to the success of the organization.
*Qualifications include:* * Requires experience with rules of FIFO, Allergen Compliance, GMPs’, Storage and Warehousing.
* Able to be on time and ready for work.
* Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus.
* Ability to read and write in English and have effective written and verbal skills.
* Must have basic math skills.
* Knowledge of light equipment operation and hand tools.
* Ability to stoop stand and bend in a repetitive motion.
* Capable of lifting to 50 lbs.
* Preferred experience in food warehouse management.
* Work with all department heads and attend management meetings.
* Have the necessary computer skills to perform job duties.
* Ability to train employees to operate equipment.
* Forklift operator license is required.
* High School Diploma or GED.
Post high school courses in related field preferred.
*Physical Requirements:* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
