About This Role
Land Systems is seeking highly qualified technical candidates to lead the Ground Robotics Software Engineering Team.
The qualified candidate will provide technical leadership and guidance on development efforts that impact ground robotics products and programs.
As the engineering lead, the person filling this role will be responsible for the execution of software analysis, design, implementation, integration, and field support for multiple products across several programs.
The candidate must be comfortable with leading a team of engineers through the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:
· Manage a 5–10-person team of software engineers ranging from junior to senior levels
· Lead full life-cycle software development tasks primarily using C++
· Lead requirements analysis, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, installation, and maintenance
· Lead software planning and estimating activities
· Participate in proposal activities to include technical writing
· Work in a diverse cross-functional team to deliver a fully integrated product
· Become the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system software
· Preparing and presenting engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews
· Implementation, integration, and test of platforms in an outdoors offroad field environments and/or testing at customer sites.
Requirements
· C/C++, C#, Python, and/or Java programming experience
· Object Oriented Design (OOD) experience
· Mission Oriented Operating Systems (MOOS) and/or Robotic Operating System (ROS) experience preferred
· Effective writing and presentation skills.
· A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.
e.
, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
· Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required
· Work outdoors in offroad field environment up to 25% is required
· Up to 25% of travel is required
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of related experience
· Technical experience in product development of software development efforts
· Excellent written and oral communications
· Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers and multidisciplinary teams
· Engineering lifecycle from concept to development to fielding and support
· Development of software architectures and applications
· Understanding of unmanned systems and ground combat vehicles preferred
· Ability to lead a software team on technical engineering projects
