The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the equipment, machinery and mechanical equipment with the facilities.
This includes installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: (95%) Ensure correct and safe operation of equipment and machinery using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Troubleshoot and maintain engines, electrical systems, CNC machinery, tools and production equipment by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications.
Inspect, maintain and repair equipment and machinery to ensure they are always in proper working order.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment to improve reliability, performance and to reduce unscheduled downtime.
Dismantle machines, equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts.
Identify, test and observe faulty equipment and machinery through observation and testing metrics.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them.
Use precision measuring and testing instruments and tools such as voltmeters and other testing devices to diagnose malfunctions and make repairs as needed.
Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
Care for machinery and equipment by cleaning them after use, adjusting parts and lubricating moving components as needed to ensure proper, efficient function.
Maintain a routine maintenance schedule to examine moving parts on a daily, weekly, monthly basis for signs of excessive wear, defects and damage.
Record all maintenance and repair services performed and track all materials and parts used during the repair process.
Maintain parts, tools and materials inventory.
Order materials and parts when inventory grows low or is depleted.
Review and study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or setting up newly-acquired machinery.
Maintain effective communication channels with the production management team in order to be apprised of issues and inform of repair progress.
Prioritize downtime issues to meet production needs.
Provide support and back up other members of the team as needed.
Maintain awareness of Maintenance Industry Standards.
Abide by safety protocols and procedures when working with tools, equipment and machinery.
Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, instructions and guidelines.
Maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Train team members on technical processes.
Control downtime by training production associates on routine preventative maintenance techniques.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with ISO Good Manufacturing Practices standards.

Assist in determining new equipment specifications to facilitate proper application.
Install new facility and production equipment according to schedule and assist in making the new equipment perform to its intended purpose.
Develop, recommend and implement improvements to facilities and equipment to improve safety, quality and productivity.
Prepare and submit paperwork on repairs, preventive maintenance, parts requests and project work to ensure proper documentation of work performed per established schedule.
Perform diagnostics and repairs to equipment in a timely manner.
Determine causes and sources of existing and potential electrical and electronic problems.
Develop improvements upon existing technology and methods, acting unilaterally with Engineering, or with others, and make recommendations for their improvements.
Monitor and/or evaluate current or potential problems with resulting action or plan to eliminate problems.
Escalate machine breakdowns to appropriate management if not resolved within the agreed timeline.
Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timelines for machine and equipment breakdown and improvements.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as required in a timely and satisfactory manner.
