Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time skilled operator who is able to responsibly demonstrate the safe and skillful operation of earth-moving equipment.
The operator will participate in various types of excavation work to include, but not limited to: large construction, site preparation and development, road work, pad sites, tree clearing and grubbing, underground utility work, grading, trenching, digging, dredging, storm water management, demolition, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Mass excavation, rough and fine grading
Ability to achieve and maintain positive drainage when grading situation allows
Perform daily heavy equipment walk-around inspections and preventative maintenance responsibilities.
Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by federal, state and company policies and procedures.
Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state drivers license prior to employment
Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work
Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
