With our continual growth, we are in search of an AV Lead Technician to join our team of professionals at our Mid-Atlantic location in Columbia, MD.
This position requires a dynamic, dedicated, self-motivated, customer focused, organized, ethical and skilled professional with a solid grasp of integrated AV systems.
Position Summary: The AV Lead Technician is directly responsible for all installation aspects of assigned projects.
There is considerable client contact as well as interdepartmental updating required which makes communication skills imperative for this position.
This individual must work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Warehouse personnel and the Installation Manager on each project to ensure success.
This position requires proficiency with technical drawings, client interfacing, communicating with general contractors, and various other key stakeholders in a professional manner.
We are looking for an individual who will not only fulfill the technical requirements of our AV Lead Technician but will also act as a mentor to junior technicians; a driven leader who is looking to share knowledge and experience to help team members learn and grow.
This job operates in a professional office environment and will also be required to drive to job sites as needed.
This is not an entry-level position; AV installation experience and leadership qualities are a must.
Responsibilities & Requirements: - Make initial contact with the installation team to clearly communicate the scope of work, safety plans and project requirements.
-Understand the details and requirements of each project and determine the proper installation for each job.
-Ensure all documentation is prepared for the project as needed and resources are aware of the needs with appropriate advance notice.
Continuous updating of each project's needs as they arise.
-Installation and configuration of high-end audio, video, network, automation systems (Lutron, AMX, Crestron, Qsys, Extron, Biamp or other common control systems) -Strong understanding of signal flow and control systems for distributed audio and video -Fundamentals of Sound Mixing -Termination of various cable types and connectors – coaxial, ethernet, BNC, RJ45, DB9 etc.
-Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams and blueprints -Diagnose and troubleshoot problem installations at both system and component levels -Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems, installation, and related tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
-Adhere to all Company standards and be involved in actively maintaining and updating the standards as needed.
Qualifications: -Must have at least three (3) years of previous experience within the pro AV integration industry with demonstrated success -Strong organizational skills and leadership qualities -Stellar customer service skills -Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask -Must be able to accurately keep track of time and materials following company standards -Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines -Highly technical and motivated -Comfortability dealing with ambiguity at times -Must have reliable transportation to and from work -Travel to various job sites as required -Own personal tools in the performance of duties -Team player -Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, clean driving record and possess a valid Driver’s License Certifications: -CTS-I preferred -Crestron, AMX, Biamp, Qsys, etc.
