Job Description
The Remediation Team Construction Manager is accountable for the overall construction execution of projects led by the Remediation Team.
This role provides oversight on construction projects and issues within the Remediation context and serves as the direct interface between contractors, consultants and Grace management.
Responsibilities
Organizes the pre-planning and construction efforts as assigned within the remediation portfolio alignment with the project execution strategies.
Establishes effective communications between the Project Team and contractors to ensure alignment of the Construction effort.
Development/endorsement and implementation of the constructability plan.
Acts as the focal point for construction-related issues.
Interfaces with Contractors to develop and endorse the Construction Management Plan and other submittals as required by the contract.
Works with Grace remediation and safety personnel to ensure a robust safety system is implemented on the assigned projects.
Interfaces with Project Controls, Quality assurance, third party verification firms and regulatorsto determine contractor reporting requirements are implemented and maintained.
Reviews and endorses Project Controls plans, achievable schedule, resource loaded and leveled progress plans, including balanced labor, work density, construction efficiency, progress targets and productivity rates as relevant to under the contract.
Manages home office contruction planning organizations and field staffing plans and construction organizations.
Manages Construction resources dedicated to projects.
Builds and fosters relationships with contractor organizations.
Coordinates with the Procurement organization to ensure that procurement plans are developed according to the construction strategy.
Provides construction support to early projects to identify construction issues that impact the project planning and cost estimates.
Coordinates with Business units and Development managers in plant locations to minimize any disruption of site operations to the extent possible.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of direct experience
Demonstrated experience in managing construction utilizing GCs, EPC, EPCM, Design Build, T&M, LS, and, LSTK Construction Contracts.
Including knowledge of standard contract templates and process.
Demonstrated construction support experience in all lifecycle stages of a project from design through construction completion
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Industry standard software, MSOffice Suite, P6, etc
Ability to work in Level C PPE with a respirator
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification
