As a manufacturing support intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals and contribute to cutting-edge projects that safeguard our nation.
The internship position is required to work out of our Columbia, Maryland office.
This will be a 12-week paid internship during the summer of 2024 beginning on Monday, May 20th and concluding on August 9th.
Duties & Responsibilities Assist in executing production processes, ensuring the timely and efficient assembly of hardware components.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to address production challenges and optimize workflows.
Participate in quality control activities to ensure that manufactured components meet rigorous standards and specifications.
Contribute to inspections, testing, and validation processes.
Create and maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to production processes, including assembly instructions, specifications, and test procedures.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the production lifecycle.
Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise during production, collaborating with the engineering team to implement effective solutions.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Previous hands-on experience through coursework, projects, or internships related to mechanical or electrical systems is preferred.
Understanding of production and assembly processes, including familiarity with manufacturing techniques and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic projects.
