Responsibilities
Work with team members to integrate with other IT systems
Analyze situations and problems to determine how to resolve problems and the root cause of these problems
Attend onsite meetings to understand requirements, change requests, and defect reports.
Follow change control procedures to plan/test/implement Infrastructure changes in coordination with business owners
Work with documentation to acquire the necessary know-how specific to supporting this Linux environment and related deliverables
Engineering configuration for network applications:
Linux/UNIX: Red Hat, Solaris systems administration (Intermediate to Advanced)
Networking: Foundational understanding of LAN networking principles (TCP/UDP, Static routing)
Scripting: automating tasks with shell, bash, & perl scripts
Systems Integration: Experience configuring applications to communicate and function across a multitude of network devices with a particular emphasis on Network Routers (BGP and anycast)
Requirements
An active DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance (or active within the past 2 years)
Hybrid work schedule 1-2 days a week on site
5+ years of relevant Linux System Admin experience
Hands on Linux Operating System experience
Proven ability to engineer network application solutions (concept development, initial design, etc.
)
Proven ability in troubleshooting complex systems
Information assurance certification meeting DoD IA 8570 IAT-II or -III (e.
g.
CISSP OR Security+)

Systems Integration: Experience configuring applications to communicate and function across a multitude of network devices with a particular emphasis on network routing using BGP and anycast
RHCE or Linux+ preferred
Problem management
Project reporting
Customer communication
Rollout of applications and OS upgrades
Build and configuration of server hardware
Maintenance of the operating systems and hardware
Installation of configured server into a production server environment
Troubleshooting OS and hardware problems for local and remote servers.

Understanding of the IETF standards process
