Job Description
The Director, Product Management is accountable for the global management of the Silica Gel product offering and its overall financial performance, including EBITDA & Operating Cash-flow.
This position reports to the VP Business Management, Materials Technologies and manages a team of five (5) employees.
Responsibilities
Managing a global team, drives the implementation of the market strategy and leads / develops the asset strategy to align and maximize the business profitability both short and long term (P&L EBITDA & Operating Cash-flow) for global Silica Gel and Intermediate products and assets
Leads the cross-functional AMT (Asset Management Team) / PMT (Product Management Team) to align all functions (sales, marketing, supply chain, procurement, operations, etc.
).
to deliver business profitability (EBITDA & Operating Cash-flow)
Responsible for the optimization and management of product mix for asset efficiency and maximum value / margin extraction, including optimization of production assets for max utilization
Price Governance / volume prioritization to optimize asset utilization and margins delivering financial goals
Manages tail analysis, challenging sales & marketing on low end business
Leads the information collection and direction setting on market fundamentals, pricing tactics, supply demand, etc.
on a regular basis to set direction and gain alignment with the commercial organization
Understands raw materials, cost drivers, make vs buy, maximize Return on Invested Capital
In cooperation with marketing, identifies portfolio product gaps and establishes roadmap for new product development/implementation
SKU rationalization to reduce complexity and improve profitability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business / commerce / Marketing or related degree
15+ years combined experience in marketing, manufacturing, supply chain and commercial business operations or equivalent combination of experience and education
Demonstrated history of delivering measurable results
Change Agent, experience implementing business change
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence
Analytical; questions the status-quo
Computer comfortable including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database software, SAP
Fluent in English, Solid Oral / Verbal presentation skills
Excellent business sense and financial planning, marketing skills, strategy development and knowledge of project implementation
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s in chemistry or material science or business MBA is preferred
Experience in the chemicals industry and/or related technology
Deep understanding of product management process and lifecycle
Ability to manage ambiguous space and external and internal challenges
