Position Summary
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk works under limited instruction to keep materials and items for production incoming (receiving) and outgoing (shipping) with accuracy and timeliness.
Role & Responsibilities
Print pick lists from Operating System and prepare the orders for shipment; process maintain deliveries and print packing lists; ship orders via UPS or Fed Ex; generate shipping log and send tracking information to Customer Service.
Sign for material deliveries, verify and inspect packages, unload using forklift when required.
Verify vendor packing slip and Company purchase order, report discrepancies to purchasing manager.
Receive purchase orders in Operating System, print receipt labels and affix to the parts.
Scan material certificates that arrive with PO’s on a daily basis; verify data and ensure each certificate is accurate and optically presentable.
File packing slips and purchase order receipts on a daily basis according to date shipped and receive into operating system.
Prepping crates and skids for machines and retrofits.
This includes:
utilizing power tools
operating a forklift
securing the machine with blocking, cleats, and straps
building supports for conveyors
protecting the shipment with foam/bubble wrap and stretch wrapping.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years experience in related role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic knowledge of shipping procedures and proper packing techniques
Pump and electrical components
Shop safety procedures
Record keeping and clerical procedures
Computer programs including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, UPS Worldship; FedEx Shipment Manager
Ability to multitask
Detailed oriented and good organizational skills

Physical Requirements
The position requires sitting more than 75% of the time, standing, moving, communicating, working with hands, and occasionally lifting items that weigh up to 25 pounds.
The position requires use of general office equipment such as computer, printer/copier, fax, phone, and potentially mechanical instruments/gauges.
