Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for managing and controlling all aspects of Filamatic’s production, manufacturing, and supply chain functions.
The ideal person possesses exceptional leadership skills and expertise to coach, mentor, and guide the subordinate staff in attainment of goals and objectives.
The role may require the individual to operate in tactical capacities and model behaviors at times for purpose of translating strategy and to drive change.
Essential Functions Control/manage the Manufacturing, Production (Assembly and Test), Supply Chain (Purchasing, Planning and Inventory Control), and Logistics (Receiving, and Shipping) teams.
Oversee scheduling and capacity planning to ensure the business has the requisite resources to satisfy internal orders and demand from customers.
Monitor inventory through subordinate staff for all items (purchased, manufactured, and produced) to ensure stocking levels satisfy fulfillment needs.
Ensure quality products and services are procured, manufactured, produced and ultimately delivered to Filamatic’s customers.
Drive rigor and use of Information Systems that make use of material requirements planning (MRP) and production requirements planning (PRP) sessions.
Assess and monitor work orders for accurate routing information and take corrective actions to remedy gaps and errors.
Generate summary reports related to inventory and labor usage and take corrective actions to remedy gaps and errors.
Ensure that all revenue streams (spare parts through large machines) are effectively managed to guarantee timely shipments that are within budget and meet customer expectations.
Monitor and drive improvements of labor utilization and efficiency when applicable.
Manage initiatives that reduce costs and inventory footprint, increase inventory turns, and ultimately increase margins.
Manage initiatives that reduce process lead times and as to increase review.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field of study.
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
Managed resources in a discrete manufacturer with an inventory of $2M or greater.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership position for a manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical equipment.
Demonstrated experience and success working for a mixed-mode manufacturer (engineer to order, make to order, make to stock, etc.
).
Strong Leadership experience and operational skills including exceptional oral and written communication skills (interpersonal skills).
Experience managing people, processes, and products as noted in the Position Summary and Essential Functions sections above.
Strong Supply Chain Management expertise.
Knowledge of capacity planning routines and variables that control same.
Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) and SOP (Sales and Operations Planning) Demonstrated experience with global sourcing, tariffs, customs routines, and uniform commercial codes.
Demonstrated knowledge of finite capacity planning.
Working knowledge of project management principles, PMBOK, etc.
Working knowledge of machine shop practices and machine assembly.
Proficient using Microsoft Office applications (namely Excel and Outlook).
Analytical thinker with demonstrated knowledge of contemporary continuous improvement frameworks (lean and six-sigma) Team player with the ability to motivate others and effectively manage personalities.
Sound understanding of cost accounting principles, overheads, etc.
Travel Requirement: 5% Physical Requirements Job requires being stationary, working with hands, reaching, and moving up to 10 lbs.
