General Summary:
Performs a variety of plumbing repairs and installs plumbing fixtures, piping, and boilers.
Maintains exterior underground sewage lines, water lines, and natural gas lines.
Responsible for job site and equipment care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Work requires comprehensive knowledge of local and State plumbing codes, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications in order to comply with regulations – acquired through high school diploma or through at least 6 months of intensive preparation outside of school.
Work requires 2-3 years of progressively more responsible plumbing/mechanic/maintenance experience including: experience with all facets of plumbing and mechanical work; the ability to estimate time and material for various jobs; the ability to perform work as scheduled and account daily for time and materials used; knowledge of safety procedures and the use of threading machines, torches, core drills, saws alls, concrete saws, and compressors.
Possession of a valid Baltimore County Journeyman Plumber's License and/or Gasfitter's License is preferred.
Must possess a valid Maryland Driver's License sufficient to operate all vehicles or equipment associated with the position at the time of appointment.
Must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate hospital vehicle.
