Job Description Summary Leads and is responsible for the labeling, inspecting and packaging of final container products with manual and/or automated packaging systems.
Operates equipment that packages materials or products by inserting them into containers or filling containers from spouts or chutes.
May perform other packaging tasks including placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, putting manuals into binders, counting and sorting various items, and forming or breaking down boxes for final product.
May also set-up, change-over and operate labeling and packaging equipment.
Responsible for data entry and imprinting computer generated labels.
Performs final check of completed documents for completeness and accuracy.
Interacts daily with other employees to ensure robust understanding of current activities across the department.
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with packaging operations.
Provides additional leadership support as needed and escalates team issues as necessary.

Responsibilities Leads the operations for packaging materials in accordance with standard manufacturing procedures (SMP) and standard operating procedures (SOP) including equipment set-up, equipment clean-up and documentation of such process Leads filling, assembling, labeling and inspecting Responsible for maintaining accuracy in weighing materials per the correct SMP and SOP weight tolerances Must be a good communicator within the manufacturing team to effectively define status of product or process between shifts either orally or with the use of written status reports Responsible for moving required materials from defined storage or staging areas to workspace using material handling equipment Demonstrates ability to set-up, operate and clean production equipment including weighing scales, hand-filling equipment, Integrated Fill Lines (IFL), bagging equipment and shrink-wrap equipment Maintains accurate production records, which include operation/cleaning logs, batch history records, label reconciliation, work order information and other pertinent data Responsible for complex troubleshooting and problem solving Conduct minor equipment repairs and identify and resolve equipment problems Assists in planning and controlling the timing of operations Provides support to the supervisor when necessary Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures Provides support on special projects Provides coaching to associates on day-to-day activities and performance Provides continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements Perform other duties as required Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma or GED For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company’s receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
