Summary of Position
The Facilities and Equipment Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance service at the assigned Planet Fitness clubs throughout the assigned region.
This includes basic plumbing, basic electrical, flooring repair, dry wall repair, exercise and relaxation equipment repairs.
Ultimately, the Facilities Technician is to ensure maximum up-time of the equipment, as it is essential to member satisfaction and retention.
Maintaining world-class and like-new conditions is an expectation that we strive for at all clubs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic plumbing repairs including solenoid troubleshooting and replacing, handle and diaphragm replacement, tightening of seats and flange bolts and supply tube rings and replacing sink and shower valves, basic electric repairs including replacing wiremold when needed, replacing ballasts in specialty lighting under 8’, helping club associates with procuring proper bulbs, drywall patching and touch-up painting as needed, replacing marlite and trim, patching flooring as needed.
Troubleshooting and repair of water fountains, floor scrubbers, beverage coolers and vacuums
Troubleshoot and maintain relaxation equipment that includes: tanning, red light booths and hydro beds
Troubleshoot and maintain exercise equipment including cardio and strength equipment
Build effective, work relationships in your region as part of the Facility Maintenance Team’s contribution to overall member satisfaction
Work independently, manage priorities and take charge as necessary track, complete and update communication on work orders through the Maintenance management app
Must be capable of effectively handling the physical demands of the job, which can involve lifting 50lbs, regular bending and lifting, working on 12’ ladders as well as low to the floor
Escalate unresolved issues to the Facilities and Equipment Manager
Travel throughout region using your own car
Qualifications/Skills
High school diploma is required, Trade School and/or college degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction/handyman field, including plumbing, electric and/or drywall/finishing.
Prior mechanical repair experience preferred.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to travel within region
Ability to present professionally and work in a public setting.
Ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
Must be very organized and able to multi-task.

Compensation:
Starting salary range 52,000 - 58,000/year, based on experience
