This position is night shift 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As our CNC Machine Operator, this individual will report to our Operations Manager and will have overall responsibility for running CNC machines for the production of roller and sliding guides in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Load/unload parts in fixtures within CNC machines.
Perform in-process quality checks to verify conformance to quality standards as outlined in standard work.
Notify supervisor and/or CNC Machine Set-up/Maintenance Tech of issues related to parts quality.
Record operational or production data.
Monitor and maintain tools in proper working condition and replace or schedule sharpening/repair as needed.
Clean and maintain tool holders.
Measure tool offsets and change tools as prescribed by the tool maintenance process.
Monitor tool wear through machine control.
Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, including, monitoring and adjusting coolant levels and concentration; check fluid levels (oil/lube, etc.
).
Notify Supervisor or manufacturing engineer of issues related to machine.
Maintain proper maintenance records.
Record scrap materials and place in appropriate location.
Apply Lean principles in performance of job duties.
Recognize and recommend process improvements to eliminate wastes in the work area.
Serve as back-up to Assemblers as needed.
Assist in the movement of material as necessary.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area, including daily chip removal and wash down of machine.
Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICIATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Background and Skills Required:

Diploma or equivalent
2 years of CNC machine operator experience
Ability to understand and follow internal quality procedures and related experience in reading blueprints and using applicable measurement tools and gauges such as calipers and micrometers
Basic math and computer skills
Familiarity with machine and factory safety guidelines
Ability to load and unload metal parts weighing up to 25 lbs.

Ability to work overtime and/or alternative shift as required
Additional Background and Skills Preferred:
