Manager, Facilities Stevenson University Summary: Directly responsible for the assignment and coordination and/or execution ofactivities within the Facilities Department to ensure a productive workforce thatsupports the University.
Oversee planning and preparation of work orders for work to beperformed by the respective maintenance technicians to ensure the University ismaintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
Department: Facility Services: Owings Mills Education/Experience: High school diploma plus 10 years of work-related maintenance experience of which 5 years are in a lead or supervisors role.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Valid drivers license and a good driving record; must be insurable.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Ability to lead a team of up to but not limited to 15 maintenance technicians.
Working knowledge and usage of hand and power tools associated within the maintenance field.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting repairs and installation as needed.
Working knowledge of an Automated Building Controls System.
Working knowledge of a computer-generated work ticket system.
Ability to practice effective verbal communication skills with faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to work any assigned shift/work schedule.
Physical Requirements: Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Talking, hearing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, fingering, and grasping.
Visual acuity to perform an activity such as operations of machines; using measurement devices; and/or visual inspections of small parts or devices.
Subject to both environmental conditions.
Activities occur inside and outside.
Subject to hazards, noise, extreme cold and oils.
Essential Functions: Effectively oversee maintenance personnel to ensure that all assigned activities are performed effectively and efficiently in accordance with the universities policies and procedures.
Evaluate objects, systems or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations or repairs Perform routine scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on air conditioning, heating, ventilation, refrigeration and other equipment/systems.
Responds to all related repair requests and troubleshoots problems; making necessary repairs.
Have a working knowledge of various HVAC controls.
Perform routine and emergency repairs to basic plumbing fixtures, pipes and fittings duties as required.
Perform minor routine and emergency repairs to electrical system components, including but not limited to, light fixtures, ballasts, switches and other electrical items.
Performs minor repairs to grounds construction, including but not limited to roadways, walkways, interior and exterior walls, ceilings floors and other building surfaces.
Assist with painting and general carpentry as required.
Perform minor equipment and appliance repairs.
Interpret specifications and blueprints.
Maintains and inspects assigned zone.
Maintains the highest level of employee/guest relations Assist with event set-up and break-down.
Assist with snow removal as required.
Available to be on-call at minimum of one week out of every two weeks.
