We have been ranked as one of Computerworld 's Top Places to Work in IT for the last 5 years, and are seeking an IT/Network Facility Administrator to support our growing IT infrastructure.
If selected, you will help us transform and maintain our campus’s telecommunications / network facilities.
Ensuring they continue to operate properly and are aligned with APL and government requirements and ready to support crucial and mission critical communications.
As an IT / Network Facilities Administrator, your duties and responsibilities will include.

Oversight of both our unclassified and classified IT facilities and sub-systems (power, cooling, security, etc.
.

) supporting these facilities.
Preparing and updating required information systems and security documentation including DCSA Form 147, UL Certificate, Access List, Emergency Evacuation and Destruction Plan, Visitor Logs, Security POC List, and other related paperwork.
Maintaining a solid understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency DCSA) information systems, security procedures including APL-specific policies, procedures, and training.
Developing and updating written Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) / Access Briefings to onboard staff operating within our facilities.
Supervising and maintaining combinations, alarms, card, and digital door access lists.
Overseeing our facilities on a weekly basis including but not limited to verifying that 1) information systems, hardware, media, and documentation are functioning properly, present, un-tampered with, and properly marked, 2) end- of-day checklists, door sheets, and required logs are complete and up-to-date, 3) physical security hardware is in goog working order, 4) physical floor plans remain accurate, and 5) the general physical integrity of the facility.
Coordinating work activities with APL service providers such as Plant Engineering, Telecommunications, Fire Department, Health and Safety and other applicable providers.
Serve as the main point of contact for facility security after normal operating hours and on weekends.
Assisting in conducting security compliance reviews, including but not limited to in-house reviews and DCSA assessments for assigned facilities.
Working with the Facility Security Officer (FSO), Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Security Services Department (SECD), Information Technology Services Department (ITSD), and Business, Construction, and Facilities Department (BCFD) as needed to support walkthroughs, reviews, and assessments.
Administering and maintaining our APC StruxureWare Data Center Expert platform and the various monitoring nodes and devices.
Ensure all ITSD/ITC managed facilities are managed / monitored.
Partner with ITSD and Sector Facility Managers, and assist with recommendations, installation, training, configuration, and alerting of APC devices.
Develop and deploy alerting thresholds for devices.
Monitor, respond, triage, resolve and/or escalate critical alerts.
Collaborate and work closely with Infrastructure Designer and BCFD Field Resources to improve or resolve re-occurring environmental or power issues.
Develop workflows and processes for configuration and deployment of devices.
Maintain and support planned growth of the platform.
Work to resolve bugs and triage issues impacting the appliance or managed devices.
May require working with Network Operations Team or opening tickets with the APC support team Drive service vehicles between our campus’s, with occasional business travel to field offices and test sites within or outside of Maryland.
The nature of this position will require the selected applicant to be physically present on-site at our Laurel, Maryland campus on a regular basis with minimal opportunity to work from home.
Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
Have atleast 3+ years of experience working in a classified environment, including familiarity maintaining alarm and card access lists and displaying content via our Digital Door Lists (DDLs) platform.
Have atleast 3+ years experience in leading and supporting large and/or complex network infrastructure upgrade and deployment projects.
Are familiar administering the APC StruxureWare Data Center Expert to manage the campus’s Telecommunications / Network Rooms.
Have a systems-level knowledge of Windows desktop systems including an understanding of system backups, configuration of IP devices, and how computers communicate in a networked environment.
Are proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio).
Able to work in a closed environment with occasional extended working hours.
Minimal local and out-of-area travel may be required (1-2 weeks per year).
Able to interact and communicate across all organizational staffing levels and stakeholders including third- party collaborators and to clearly present and convey complex technical information through both oral and written means.
Ability to convey technical information to small teams include peers and customers.
Show evidence of independent thought and analysis in identifying cost-effective solutions that can be implemented to solve recurring problems across classified computing infrastructure and systems.
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
Are open to driving service vehicles between our campus’s, with occasional business travel to field offices and test sites within or outside of Maryland.
Are able to monitor and respond to e-mail, voicemail, and business communications via enterprise- issued portable communications devices.
Flexibility to work non-standard business hours and to be on-call to support planned operations to include occasional early morning, late evening, or weekend support.
Willing to support and work necessary hours to finish assignments.
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs.
Highly motivated self-starter with solid organizational and problem solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and effectively plan and organize work.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels of staff using tact and diplomacy Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment Ability to evaluate and set priorities in order to meet deadlines.
Track record of providing excellent customer service.
Hold an active Secret security clearance.
If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.

Understand the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual(NISPOM), Risk Management Framework(RMF) implementation, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM).
Obtain or possess a current DoD 8570 certification (Security+, CISSP, etc.
) Prior experience in an informal leadership role providing technical/procedural feedback and guidance to peers and coworkers.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications to develop presentations, configuration templates, and training aides.
Capable of leading small teams in the completion of large and/or complex Field Operations projects.
Are familiar with ServiceNow Ticketing System and able to develop or improve workflows.
Have experience in leading UPS preventative maintenance contracts: Ensuring our fleet of UPSs are maintained.
Working with external partners to perform routine preventative maintenance on our large UPS units.
Obtaining pricing to renew agreements.
Coordinating with Security Team to coordinate security escorts as required.
