Overview:
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
Some construction work experience preferred.
Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 school, water/wastewater, higher education, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports or marina projects.
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES:
Project assignments including on-site representation of client, preparation of project documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, plan review, research of records.
May perform a review of project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time.
Independently apply techniques and analyze for problems and methods.
Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables with periodic fluctuations in workload.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Receive training, participation in company activities, and administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
Local licensing regulations may prohibit use of Engineer title without the individual processing a Professional License.
In those cases, the Consultant title shall be used until Professional License is obtained.
FE/EIT preferred.
Knowledge of engineering principles of construction management and project controls.
Knowledge of one of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
Some knowledge or familiarity with electronic Project Management information, controls and reporting management system platforms preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Bluebeam, and CADD.
Ability and readiness to engage in MBP-provided training and grasp of current relevant electronic project management tools, systems and platforms.
Ability to develop, track, maintain and communicate project controls and reporting work product within MBP’s project management and reporting framework.
Ability to work within a project team to complete project assignments.
Ability to execute tasks independently.
Ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and technical reports.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to the work.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Ability to develop innovative, creative solutions to problems, while utilizing analytical skills.
Ability to deeply focus on the details of an assignment and then summarize findings for presentation to project team leader.
Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas verbally and written.
Ability to positively represent MBP within and outside of the workplace by acting with integrity in interpersonal interactions.
Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
Able to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
Be a United States citizen.
GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:
Reports to Area Manager in collaboration with Practice or Service Line Leaders.
SUPERVISORY:
Ability to supervise Team Members in technical/administrative roles.
