Job Summary
SUMMARY:
Incumbent is guided by thorough knowledge of engineering, plant operations methods, techniques, maintenance, applicable codes and regulations, and use of departmental equipment and supplies, principles of management and supervision and procedures and policies of departments and facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance Manager:
Utilize technical expertise to advise/support local hospitals in maintenance driven initiatives.
Prolonging life of equipment through proactive maintenance measures and spreading best practices across a 10-hospital health system is the primary duty.
Collects and analyzes facility data during the survey process to develop opportunities to improve service.
Retrieves hard-to-collect data through direct interviews, observations, experience, and other methods.
Evaluates and determines capital equipment needs based on staffing and functional needs.
Identifies "hot spots" and program issues.
Identifies and develops a corrective action plan for quality and service issues.
Maintains working knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary functions.
Monitors and inspects work performance to assure performance standards are maintained.
Project Manager:
Reviews and writes specifications for corrective maintenance and minor construction projects.
Perform technical reviews of design to ensure quality, maintainability and scope is consistent with approved budget.
Ensure that all vendors are prequalified for safety, financial history, and technical qualifications.
Facilitate access for contractors and consultants into mechanical and electrical rooms.
Track construction progress in accordance with project schedule
Coordinate construction activities between PM, plant personnel and contractors.
Performs departmental and other related duties as required.

Working Conditions:
Some exposure to hazards or risks.
Heat, noise, dust and dirt, areas requiring infection control.
Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress.
Work whatever hours are necessary to maintain facility in a safe manner including nights and weekends.
