DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: As a QA Technician, the candidate will be part of a High-Performance team that largely manages its own work (self-directed).
Teams are responsible for keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, maintaining a clean/safe work environment and maintaining a high level of quality and service to their customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Compare analytical results with specification.
Determine usage decision for raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods by electronic methods.
Communicate out of specification results to appropriate parties to determine disposition.
Troubleshoot SAP issues involving inspection plan discrepancies, COA issues, and inspection plan launching issues, including fast and consistent communication with North American Specification Team.
Create and manage out of specification material through use of Quality Notifications in SAP.
Request and / or obtain samples for data analysis.
Respond professionally to customer complaints or inquiries in a timely manner.
Initiate and fully engage in investigation of complaints or issues to determine root cause and corrective action.
Assure timely completion of investigation and all corrective actions identified to address root cause have been completed.
Coordinate customer returns, receipt back to inventory and credit to the customer.
Generate and ensure the accuracy of Certificates of Analysis (COA's) for customers.
Create and maintain COA profile master data.
Create manual COAs accurately upon request.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer complaints, investigations, product traces, causes, corrective actions, receipt of return goods and related internal and external communication.
Generate trend reports that detail the root causes and frequency of complaints, as well as process improvements and resolutions.
Train peers on topics that could include, use of QNs, generating COAs, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Acceptable attendance required.
Meets overall performance rating standards in most recent performance review is required.
High school diploma or equivalency required Twelve (12) college credits/CEUs or 2 years of relevant lab experience required.
Strong PC skills required.
Experience operating in a Windows environment, managing files and handling data.
Professional written and verbal communication skills are required.
Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution required.
SAP experience preferred, especially in relation to QM module and quality notifications.
Applicant must be self-directed and motivated.
Strong analytical and organizational skills are required.
Applicant must have strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
Applicant should have experience following principles and making informed decisions.
Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively is required.
Experience investigating problems and determining the root cause required.
Ability to present information to peers in a logical manner.
Must possess strong teamwork capabilities, flexibility to adjust to shift changes including weekends and overtime on short notice.
Able to work in a challenging and fast paced environment with changing practices.
Ability to occasionally work in an environment that is subject to temperature extremes, spice dust and odors, noise and vibration is required.
Ability to collect and analyze data using Excel and SAP is preferred.
Experience in a food manufacturing environment and/or knowledge of food safety/HACCP preferred.
Experience in customer service and/or responding to customer complaints preferred.
Experience maintaining confidential information preferred.
Demonstrated proficient performance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft applications required.
