We are currently hiring for a Systems Engineer to work closely with our Information Technology team.
Reporting to the Senior Network Manager, you will be responsible for providing high level support in Information Technology completing the following tasks: Essential Duties: Performs all duties assigned by supervisor, manager, and/or project teams.
Supports the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of IT systems, including servers, storage, operating systems, software, telecommunications, routers, switches and firewalls.
Provides and maintains adequate computing environment for data center.
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
Facilitates design, testing, implementation and documentation of new technologies while ensuring projects are efficiently conducted and completed within the established budget and schedule.
Ensures goals and objectives are met in the most cost-effective manner for all projects.
Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to the design of network architecture, integration and installation.
Works with consultants to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance.
Coordinates with other departments in order to understand and meet their requirements.
Evaluates network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations.
Checks systems in order to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures.
Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Establishes and controls systems access and security.
Trains and advises Customer Support on new software and support procedures.
Develops data backup, retention and recovery procedures.
Coordinates third-party maintenance for network hardware, software and telecommunications services.
Develops or establishes strong relationships with service providers.
Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
Maintains and tests disaster recovery plans.
Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related technical certifications and experience.
Experience/Qualifications: 8+ years of related work experience.
MCSE or equivalent experience.
Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and good organizational and problem solving skills.
Familiar with applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning, development and support for both on-prem and cloud technologies.
Extensive application support experience.
Expert knowledge in designing, testing, implementing and supporting multi-site enterprise network infrastructures.
Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, network, LAN/WAN and PC/Server operating systems, including Windows, Linux and VMware in a multi-site Enterprise environment.
Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
Well versed in Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra design, implementation and troubleshooting.
Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products as required.
Preferred Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Technical Skills: Experience using Intune to manage computing devices including configuration, security, and application delivery.
Experience with scripting and basic programming including Powershell and MS Graph.
Experience deploying and supporting virtualization technologies.
Well versed in Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Experience managing and supporting Microsoft Exchange Online.
Experience investigating and mitigating security breaches using Microsoft Defender.
Solid writing skills.
