i've been holding some all-acoustic jams lately, emphasizing the singing.
a couple of ukuleles, drums (soft, brushes), keys (internal speakers only), maybe an acoustic guitar.
other acoustic instruments possible.
thinking a standup bass would be wonderful, really, really round out the sound.
not looking for anything fancy.
just basic thumping out the rhythm and root-5, mostly, you know.
don't need hot jazz bass playing.
maybe a student or beginning standup bass player would work.
i make it simple for everyone.
give everyone charts for all the songs we do.
all easy stuff, some country gospel, classic rock, bluegrass, mostly stuff from a couple great ukulele song books (daily ukulele, by beloff).
if you can sing, that would be perfect.
i'm a mediocre singer at best.
one guy is a really good singer.
a couple of female singers are interested in coming too.
