Position Description:
The CoreLife Exercise Specialist position is an important role within the care model, tasked with creating an immersive and energetic environment for the purpose of increasing the use of “movement” as a treatment tool.
Patients enter the CoreLife program apprehensive to begin an exercise routine, therefore it is the responsibility of the specialist to discuss and remove any barriers, in addition to facilitating positive exercise experiences.
Working with a collaborative team made up of clinicians, registered dietitians, and behavioral health specialists, CoreLife Exercise Specialists design, implement, and execute tailored fitness programs using corrective and functional exercise practices.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Establishing comfort and positivity within an active atmosphere
Provide education with the goal of improving a patient’s understanding, comfort, and confidence in physical activity
Document and analyze comprehensive exercise history
Collaborate with the care teammates to:
Discuss exercise selection and/or restrictions
Alter exercise care program as needed
To ensure compliance with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to patient care
Design and execute corrective and functional based exercise programs
Motivate the patient population to achieve exercise goals and adhere to the entire CL program
Provide follow-up with CoreLife patients between scheduled visits
Monitor patient progress within their individualized plans
Manage patient accounts within the different CoreLife care systems
Ensure the exercise equipment is in good condition
Perform light cleaning and related upkeep of gym spaces
Timely and professional communication with patients and the CoreLife team.
Provide group exercise events or classes on a regular basis
Travel and cover sessions for fellow Exercise Specialists as needed at clinics other than your assigned location.
Specific Responsibilities:
Hold high-quality private training and small group sessions
Input progress notes and update patient statuses using CoreLife care systems/software.
Attend weekly team meetings.
Administer a patient-required exercise intake visits to all patients
Provide an introductory and educational visit
Utilize CoreLife technology to manage patient data
Collaborate with care teammates on a consistent basis within team huddles
Adhere to all CoreLife policies and performance metrics; not limited to:
Trend towards a patient facing time of roughly 65%
Reporting weekly exercise sessions and other data as requested.
Wipe and dust equipment as necessary to provide a sanitized environment
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise related field (preferred)
Licensure/Certification/Affiliation:
Nationally-recognized personal training certificate or a fitness-related degree
Current CPR/AED certification
