Notre Dame Preparatory School is seeking a part-time Middle Level Learning Resource Specialist for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
The ideal candidate will have a Special Education background as well as an understanding of the middle level aged young girl.
Besides the ability to be a team player who is compassionate, communicative and calm, a working knowledge of Learning Styles, Executive Functioning, ADHD, Anxiety/Depression remains imperative.
In addition to providing direct support to individual and/or small groups of students and to “pushing in” to classrooms, the ML Learning Resource Specialist will be able to read current student data to create individualized strategies for successful academic outcomes.
The Middle Level Learning Resource Specialist can expect hands-on work with the students as well as providing support for fellow faculty members.
The right candidate will enjoy working in a mission-driven, religious educational setting.
Employment is part-time (3 days per week) for 10-months, beginning late-August 2024.
Approximate contract dates are August 19, 2024 – June 6, 2025.

Job Responsibilities The Middle Level Resource Specialist's areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the ability to: Manage and/or develop NDP Formal Educational Plans for students whose documented diagnosis warrants plans and/or accommodations (in conjunction with the full-time Upper Level Learning Specialist) Collaborate closely with teachers, students, parents and necessary administration especially for students with NDP Formal Educational Plans Act as a liaison in support of struggling students and their parents Meet with identified students on an individual basis at least once per week to preview and/or review material, organize files/materials, re-teach lessons, provide study skills, etc.
Communicate weekly with Student Support Team by keeping running notes throughout the week on students who need support Assist teachers in understanding the unique needs of the students The ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor’s Degree in Education with Special Education endorsement is required; Master’s degree in same is preferred.
Candidates with previous teaching experience and MSDE certification required.
Minimum of three (3) years of related and relevant work experience including classroom teaching.
Additional related work experience preferred.
Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents.
