The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a full-time religion and social studies teacher.
The teacher will teach lessons to students in grades 6th-8th.
The teacher is responsible for implementing daily standard-based lessons to support student's acquisition and application of the curriculum aligned with the standards of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Essential Functions
Follow the guidelines and tenets of the Catholic Church and the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives aligned with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently.
Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students.
Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum.
Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner.
Perform duties as scheduled.
Support the Catholic spirituality and mission of the school.
Attend various school events such as Back to School Night, graduation, and Open House.
Position Qualifications
Must be an active, practicing Catholic fully able to participate in the life of the church.
Maryland certified or willing to pursue MD certification.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
Support and uphold Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of SJRCS (practicing Catholic preferred).
Demonstrates ability to operate with a growth mindset and seek opportunities for feedback.
