Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities: - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs - Provide instruction in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student - Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment - Assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly - Utilize specialized techniques and resources to support students with speech therapy, early intervention, and literacy education - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development - Monitor and track student data to ensure academic growth and achievement - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance Skills: - Strong knowledge of special education principles and practices - Proficiency in classroom management techniques and strategies - Experience with early intervention programs and childhood development - Ability to effectively implement behavior management plans - Familiarity with literacy education strategies for students with special needs - Understanding of child welfare and behavioral health considerations in an educational setting - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Note: This job description is not exhaustive and may be subject to change or modification as needed.
