Several vacancies exist in the Department of Recreation and Parks for Recreation Activity Center Coordinators.
A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Under general supervision, manage the operations of a Recreation Activity Center.
Supervises the educational and recreational programming for at-risk youth in a Recreation Activity Center; screens, evaluates, and monitors clients, and makes referrals to other agencies or professionals.
Essential Job DutiesManages the daily operations of a Recreation Activity Center.
Supervises and trains staff.
Plans, schedules and oversees a program of diversified services to Recreation Activity Center participants of all ages.
Supervises a variety of recreation and education activities designed to meet the needs of at-risk youth.
Monitors and evaluates clients' participation in the program to determine community needs are being met.
Researches and implements new trends in recreation programs and services.
Hosts community input meetings, evaluations and programs to build community.
Supervises Recreation Activity Leaders and volunteers assigned to center.
Prepares statistical and analytical reports of program activities and services provided.
Responds to inquiries concerning program activities.
Meets with social and civic organizations within the community.
Examples of Other DutiesMay lead and instruct volunteer and other workers within the program.
Performs other related duties as required.

) SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Employees hired after July 1, 2022 are required to participate in the Baltimore County Employees’ Retirement System, with very limited exceptions.
Physical and Environmental ConditionsThe work of this classification entails frequent walking, standing, and other limited physical activities.
The work of this classification entails travel to recreation and parks sites, facilities, and meetings throughout the County.
Medical Examination and Employment Background InvestigationApplicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
