Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a full-time *Upper School English Teacher* for the 2024-2025 school year.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record focusing on writing, reading, and analysis.
She/he must successfully pass a criminal background check.
This position is exempt and will report directly to the Upper School Head.
*Responsibilities include:*
* Teach various levels and grades of Upper School English, including our new 10th AP Seminar Course
* Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program
* Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
*The ideal candidate will possess:*
* Bachelor’s Degree in English required;
* Experience working in an independent school setting preferred
* Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
* Eagerness to embrace the mission and values of Maryvale and our connection to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur
* Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
* Commitment to single gender education for young women
* Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth, and high energy level
