As Project Manager, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of GIS solutions and software applications, while collaborating with our various business practices to successfully implement emerging and innovative technology.
The position is a hybrid opportunity with some potential travel to meet with clients and attend local and regional events.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Monitor and manage project performance, scope, budget, quality, risks, and schedule for all assigned projects including Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contract compliance ensuring high levels of customer service
Participate in a team environment to develop and be actively engaged in project solutions
Understand and document client requirements and work with business and systems analysts to translate into functional business requirements
Manage subconsultants
Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules
Prepare and update Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Project Management Plans (PMP)
Serve as main point of contact for assigned projects and provide frequent and direct communication with clients
Schedule and lead client meetings (in-person and remote), and prepare agendas and detailed meeting minutes
Prepare and submit project deliverables, documentation, progress reports, and invoices
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
Manage and update project resourcing for assigned projects
Manage team performance
Attend and present at local and regional conferences and seminars
Recognize and help mine new business opportunities
Develop technical scopes of work and approaches in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), working with the project team to estimate hours and cost to perform the required services
Required Skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
Ability to work with a diverse and geographically dispersed project team
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in the field of information technology or related discipline
At least 5 years of direct work experience in a project management capacity for GIS and/or application development projects
Experience preparing and providing presentations in public and/or project settings
Experience writing technical proposals and project documentation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred Experience
Master’s degree in the field of information technology or related discipline
PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certificate
Experience implementing solutions for state and local government
Experience implementing software solutions in the transportation, airport, water/wastewater, environment and natural resource, facility, or public safety markets
Experience managing web application development projects
Experience managing GIS implementation projects
Experience implementing Esri technology in a consulting capacity
Experience working with team members, customers, and consulting partners from a broad spectrum of disciplines
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment.
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking.
Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
