Montebello State Hospital - Large Brass Plaque - $350 (Baltimore)

Very large solid brass plaque from Montebello State Chronic Disease Hospital in Baltimore.
Neat piece of Maryland history.
The hospital complex has recently been demolished to make way for new construction.
Plaque is, indeed, large.
It's 40.
75" high, 30" wide, and 1.
25" deep.
Very heavy.
Solid brass; NOT bronze.
Dated 1957.
The brass front, as was customary with these large plaques in/on public buildings, was coated with a brownish paint; both to give it "gravitas", and so that it wouldn't need to be polished constantly.
In the pictures, you'll see that the paint has flaked off in places.
Were I you, I'd consider coating this piece with stripper and removing the paint to disclose the brass.
I think that the brass would look terrific.
