NO CRACKS, CHIPS OR REPAIRS on this fantastic lovely, gorgeous Victorian Bisque Piano Baby, by Gustav or Gebruder Heubach
This beautiful bisque porcelain baby figurine was made to lay atop a shawl that was on a piano in a Victorian parlor.
Skillfully decorated to give a real lifelike quality to the piece, the craftsmanship is testament to the reputation of Heubach as a first-class manufacturer.
Adored by collectors all over the world, these stunning figurines are very hard to find.
Why the question of Gustav or Gebruder Heubach??? The back stamp is the sunburst mark, which was used from 1882 supposedly by Gustav, but there is an impressed Heubach sunburst mark that if looked through a loop and using wax paper to try to trace it looks like the mark supposedly used by Gebruder.
Made in Germany is also stamped on the piece.
There is also a handwritten number orange that is either 70 or 78 a little smudged.
