We are looking to hire an OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

This is facilitated by independent assessment, treatment, and education with a focus on preventive care and health/wellness promotion.
The Nurse Practioner collaborates with the physician and Manager for the overall direction of the medical department and for individual patient consultations.
Assists with supervision of the Medical Department staff who also provide patient care, wellness programs administrative support and other related services to employees.
This individual works closely with the Corporate Medical Director, Occupational Health Manager, occupational health organizations and other medical providers to meet the needs of the organization's employees.
Responsibilities PATIENT CARE: Responsible for patient care for employees of McCormick and Co.
Inc.
Provider patient care includes, but is not limited to: worker's compensation initial and follow-up, pre-placement physicals, fit-for-duty physicals, emergency response and urgent/medical care.
Additional clinical activities and non-assessment visits include: testing (drug screen collection, breath alcohol testing, phlebotomy) spirometry, titmus, audiometry screening, vaccinations and other patient care/nursing activities, etc.
Consults with Corporate Medical Director when indicated.
Documents medical information accurately and in a timely fashion.
Uses OHM in the management of documentation, reporting, tracking and trending.
SAFETY: Works with Safety and HR to provide prompt, appropriate treatment of all work related incidents.
Completes appropriate documentation in OHM and provides reports and follow-up as needed.
Provides insight to IRB activities concerning mechanism of injury, outcomes and possible explanations.
Assists with tracking and compliance of surveillance testing and reporting.
Identifies safety concerns that need attention and reports these issues to appropriate Safety staff.
EDUCATION: Provides for and participates in new employee orientation and orientation of current employees to new procedures, policies, protocols and equipment.
Develops programs and lectures as the need arises due to current events or activities.
Provides support for educational, heath and wellness activities at all facilities.
Functions as a mentor by provides educational opportunities for the medical staff including in-services on new equipment, procedures or current events.
Provides education to patients on wellness, health and medical management.
CONSULTING: Consults with all facilities outside of Maryland in cases of worker's compensation, disability, drug and alcohol screening or any other medical-related issue for the purpose of assisting the HR department with decisions and lending support, knowledge and guidance so medical policies, procedures and protocols and be administered similarly in all locations.
Qualifications MS in MSN Degree required, AACN or AANP certification as an advanced practice nurse practitioner (adult or family) and licensure as an advanced practice nurse practitioner (adult or family) in Maryland Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner certification required 5+ years experience as a Family or Adult Health Nurse Practitioner required, preferably in Occupational Health, urgent care or Emergency Department.
2+ years as clinical nurse - ED, Urgent Care, Med/Surg.
3+ years experience in Occupational Health, preferably as a Nurse Practitioner, but can be as an RN.
Current, unencumbered CRNP license in Maryland Current healthcare CPR + AED certification Occupational Health experience with Non-DOT or DOT physicals and testing Experience assessing the health needs of patients: obtains medical history, performs physical exams and pre-placement physicals, develops initial health assessments, identifies employees at risk for health problems.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
Leadership and skills in educating both staff and employees.
Ability to multi-task is required.
Serves on company committees and works on projects as needed; acts as liaison with outside referral agencies.
Acts as liaison and consultant to HR management regarding disability management, work restrictions and management of medical issues.
Provides coordination of care by referring patients when necessary to ER’s and other specialists, and provides case management expertise for continuity of care.
Leadership-Assists in mentoring and orientation of new staff, assists in development of new skills, works with Manager to facilitate ongoing training for all staff.
Communication-Ability to speak to individuals of varying educational levels and socioeconomic backgrounds with the purpose of explaining health issues, medications and other important information regarding their health and well being.
Work Organization-Must be able to multi-task many different types of activities.
