Overview:
A Residential Program Manager (RPM) manages multiple congregate living homes for The Arc-Howard.
Each home that is overseen will have a Direct Support Manager (DSM) that will work closely with the RPM on all facets of the day-to-day operation of the homes.
Some of those tasks include recruitment, staffing issues, conflict resolution and logistics.
The RPM is part of a larger team that works as part of the support network for the residents in our services.
The liaison with the larger support team will require the RPM to also communicate with other stakeholders regarding the individuals serviced including, but not limited to, the person’s family, medical personnel and the Advocate.
Job Summary: Supervision of House Managers and Direct Care Staff.
Annual performance evaluations with the assistance of the Advocate for DSM’s Requires weekly reviews of all assigned houses Supervises daily shift notes and reviews on iCare Manager (ICM) Assists in keeping residential and individuals’ files up to date, along with Advocate, and in compliance with all regulations on site.
Responsible for maintaining communications between the main office, houses, outside contacts (Advocates, Service Coordination) and day programs regarding all aspects of policy and individuals affairs Attends house staff meetings monthly Gathers and compiles materials needed for Licensing and other agency related reviews.
Ensure that licensing and regulations reporting requirements are met.
This includes, but is not limited to Incident Reporting, Plans of Correction, audits and the Program Service Plans Reviews and submits payroll in accordance with required deadline Monitors Paycom on a daily basis for timecard corrections, leave requests and applicants May conduct assigned training in the homes Works with staff to increase resident’s adaptive behavior skills for working and living in the community.

Oversees operating monies (personal use funds, and supplies) to appropriate staff and reviews receipts to ensure that purchases are being charged to appropriate budgets Periodic weekend visits check Keeps the Assistant Director of the program up to date on any health and safety concerns.
Liaison between Day, Residential and other agencies providing services.
Maintains routine contact with individuals, significant family members or legal guardians.
Maintains records in accordance with policy and State and Federal regulations.
Acts as an advocate and assists individuals in making informed choices that will lead to a fuller and improved quality of life.
Keeps management and the residents team informed of any situations/conditions, which may threaten the health and safety of individuals.
Maintains daily absences of each site for staff vacancies or leave of absence Assist in Residential trainings for the department Submits a monthly staff schedule to the Program Assistant Director Treats individuals and their families with dignity and respect at all times.
Reports/monitor incidents, injuries, workers compensation, terminations, etc.
on the required forms in a timely manner to the appropriate department (QA, HR, etc.
) Conducts Quarterly site visits Orders and ensures delivery/follow-up of furniture Plan and schedule activities for the Individuals, booking vacations Help with admission decisions for referrals based upon client assessments; Interviews and hire potential Direct Support Professional and DSMs Coaching/mentoring DSMs in all facets of location management; serves as a resource for DSM staff Other duties as assigned Shared Duties with other agency team members: Work closely on annual performance evaluations of Direct Support Managers (provide input to respective Directors) Collaborate in maintaining fluid communication between outside contacts (ie: families, service coordinators, OHCQ,) and all aspects of policy and individuals affairs.
Gather and compile materials needed for Licensing and other agency related reviews.
Ensure that licensing and regulations reporting requirements are met and records are in place: The Program managers will oversee licenses on sites and The Advocates will cover all books in the main office.

Assist individuals in making informed choices that will lead to fuller and improved quality of life Work closely with Directors and Administrator on Interviews and tours to prospective persons served, their families, guardians and Service Coordinators; Explore educational, employment, volunteer and retirement opportunities of the person’s choice across their lifespan Promote the use of technology and explore adaptive equipment(s) that would enhance skills Review Care Plans and 45 Day across all services and address any issue noted Other duties may be assigned Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a similar discipline is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in the field of developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential or group home setting.
Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, showcasing leadership and organizational skills.
Familiarity with regulations and standards relevant to residential programs for individuals with IDD.
Knowledge: Understanding of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, including various conditions, challenges, and best practices for care.
Knowledge of person-centered planning and individualized care approaches.
Awareness of relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines related to disability services and residential programs.
Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, their families, staff, and other stakeholders.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle challenging situations that may arise in a residential setting.
Organizational skills to manage schedules, staff shifts, appointments, and activities.
Administrative skills for maintaining records, managing budgets, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
