Job Summary The Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Specialist is a human resources professional based out of our in our Hunt Valley, MD office, responsible for assisting the human resources department in aligning business objectives with employees and management across the organization.
The Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Specialist will report to the Human Resources Manager/Director.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: · HR Support - Responsible for assisting the organization by providing HR support across multiple area of Human Resources to include but not limited to; Payroll Processing, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Compliance and Implementation, and Recruiting.
· Payroll Processing - Completed bi-weekly by collecting and verify timekeeping information from employees and managers.
- To include but not limited to; calculating wages, overtime, bonuses and commissions.
Inputting data into payroll system (Paylocity) in accurately and timely manner.
Review and validate payroll entries for accuracy.
· Employee Data Entry and Review - Assisting with New Hire Onboarding process and current employee status by entering in employee data to include but not limited to; Employee Data, Employee Status, Pay Rate, Dept.
/Position, Taxes, PTO, Deductions, Benefits, Direct Deposit, Time and Labor.
· Monitoring Payroll Mailbox - Review mailbox for employee issues and resolve employee issues, to include but not limited to; Updating Direct Deposits, Addresses, Personal Information, Deductions, Benefits (i.
e.
, Insurance, Retirement Plans), Per Diem, Reimbursements, Employment Verification, Commissions, Bonuses · Benefits Administration - Assist HR Department in administering employee benefit programs to include health insurance, retirement plans.
Conducting benefit audits and resolving issues.
· Employee Offboarding - Assisting with managing employee's departure from organization to include notification and resignation handling, exit interviewing, final pay and benefits, removal of employee access, Exit Interview, communication.
· Employee Relations - Assist HR Department by addressing employee concerns and providing recommendations on HR policies and procedures.
- Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolutions between employees and management.
Conduct employee investigations to bring successful resolutions to complaints and grievances.
· Training and Development - Assist HR Department in identifying training opportunities and implementation of training for employees.
Participate in the planning, development and implementation of the overall Organizational Development strategy.
· Talent Acquisition - Assist HR Department by being cross trained in Talent Acquisition to successfully attract, recruit and hire quality candidates for all Team Wall open positions.
· Other Duties as assigned, to include but not limited to; preparing HR Reports for Leadership Team, Conducting New Hire Orientation.

· Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Travel · Travel will vary with approximately 10-20% of travel to local offices in Harrisburg, PA and Pittsburgh, PA and Chantilly, VA periodically Required Education and Experience - Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including payroll processing and compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws, talent acquisition, training and development - Solid recruiting background and expertise in job posting, candidate identification, interviewing reference checking, on-boarding.
- Solid background in training and development.
Preferred Education and Experience · Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications Preferred · SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential preferred.
