Authority Brands is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team.
As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
This position will play a critical role in supporting our employees and maintaining the integrity of our payroll system.
Responsibilities:
• Process and review payroll on a weekly and bi-weekly schedule, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee the preparation and distribution of payroll checks, direct deposits, and tax forms.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records.
• Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other systems, such as HRIS and accounting software.
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner.
• Stay current with payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
• Generate payroll reports and provide analysis to support financial and operational decision-making.
• Assist with the implementation of new payroll software or system upgrades, as needed.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior payroll staff, contributing to their professional development.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is highly preferred.
• Must have Dayforce experience.
• Proven experience as a payroll specialist, with at least 5 years of progressive responsibility in payroll processing and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of HRIS and timekeeping systems, Ceridian Dayforce is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and external partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
