```Duties```
- Maintain and balance general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Provide financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
```Experience```
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Skills:
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Strong understanding of debits/credits and accounts
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes
- Ability to write financial reports
- Proficient in 10-key typing
- Familiarity with payroll processes
This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
