Perform audit fieldwork, including detail substantive and control testing and reconciliation and tying of balance sheet accounts.
Prepare nonprofit informational returns (990’s).
Test, verify, and analyze data using established audit standards, procedures, and techniques.
Review transactions, documents, records, and operational methods to determine adequacy of control and efficiency of operations.
Prepare and organize supporting documentation, including work papers and schedules for projects under review.
Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to strengthen controls, improve operations, and reduce costs.
Maintain strong technical knowledge on accounting and auditing standards, including keeping up with related laws and regulations for the not-for-profit industry, generally through firm provided instruction.
Travel to client locations within commuting distance from Washington, D.
C.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Accountancy, and 2 years (24 months) of experience required.
Prior work experience must include 2 years of audit work in public accounting.
